About The Acorn...
The Acorn Community Theatre was established in 2004, aiming to develop a superb 200-seat all-age community theatre in the heart of Worksop for entertainment, training and participation in the performing and visual arts.
The Acorn Theatre opened in November 2006 on Queen Street in the centre of Worksop, where once stood the URC Hall.
The theatre has been developed and run by a team of dedicated and talented volunteers, and is now Worksop’s only theatre, used by local groups and individuals as well as professional touring companies.
The Acorn is a registered charity and run entirely by our team of friendly and dedicated volunteers, and the Acorn could not run without them. We rely on committed individuals to service front of house, backstage and provide all manner of technical support. If you think you fit the bill, we’d love you to join us! Whether backstage or front of house, there are many jobs to put your hand to. A few hours a week or a few hours a month, you’ll be helping to put the show on the road for thousands of theatre goers in and around Worksop!
